Hey gang,
Rodger Grantham, Bill Rinke, Dan Bosso, and I are spending the weekend in College Station TX for the CVAR spring drivers school and race. Rodger is getting his novice license, I am crewing for him (in Gary Fuqua's TR4), Bill and Dan are working corners. While Friday's weather was very cold and windy, today was great, and tomorrow should be nice as well. Rodger is doing great!!! and was fastest in the 2nd qualifying heat of the whole group (which included two 911's and a couple of hot Alfa's 8) ), so that put him on pole for the race (see photo below). In the next race, he ran down and passed the 911 for the checkered flag; awesome! Sunday will be another day with about 4 sessions for the students. There will be an article in a future club newsletter, so if you are not a club member.... YOU SHOULD BE!

Well, we just got back home from TWS, and it was a great weekend. Rodger can't get that smile off his face, which is all that matters. He did really well, cutting his best lap time by another 3 seconds on Sunday. The TR4 ran great, and we found the cause of the oil leaks we had (finally!) Can't wait to see Rodger's Spitfire at Hallett; come and join us.

My brother Erik is going to bring his SVRA group 8 Alfa GTV to the Corinthian event at Hallet in April. I attend most all his races and will be there. Would be great if we could pit near the GOBMC group. Are Italian cars allowed ?

Gee, I don't know... But seriously, contact Gary Fuqua, as he is usually the one to reserve the pit sheds at Hallett. We would love to have you, I'm sure.

Forgot about something that happened on the drive to TWS. As we were going down I-30 to Texarkana, we passed a U-Haul truck towing a car that caught our eye. It was a Woolsley, which is an obscure enough British Car; to make matters "more weirder" it had been stretched  and was painted a strange lavender :o . I have never even seen a Woolsley in person, much less one like that.

Curtis, tell your brother that his Alfa GTV would be most welcome at our Heartland Vintage Racing event known as the O'Reilly Auto Parts Grand Prix. Check out our website at www.heartlandvintageracing.com .
